back with the boys

praying for Boston. evil sucks.

sooooo jay is HOME!

army wives and folks who have to go long periods without their spouses are my new heros. (that sentence may be grammatically horendous...?!)

but seriously. i am so thankful that jay doesnt travel for a living. oh i would miss him so much. and my fb friends would hate me for sharing my sadness.

friday i was so giddy. i could finally tell gabe that dad was coming home. i could finally throw away jays itinerary and just know he was headed home! fabulous.

gabe really did fall asleep saying "dada" over and over. i almost cried it was so sweet.

i thought i was going to have to take tylenol pm to sleep. it was like christmas. but once i snuggled into the middle of our big ol bed (knowing it was my last night to have the middle...) i relaxed and slept pretty hard.

got up saturday and didn't want to do anything except see jay. ha. but i knew i had to wait til noonish. gabe and i played with every toy in the house before breakfast was over. we (ok, I) was trying to stay super busy hoping to pass the time.

luckily i wore gabe out and he went down for an early morning nap. i was glad b/c i was going to wake him if he wasn't up when jay got back. and this homegirl does NOT wake a sleeping baby!

i actually put on makeup and "real clothes." i figured i wouldn't go for the homeless look since jay hadn't seen me in 11 days.

we pulled into ccc right around 11:45. chatted with pam and aaron for a minute and then we saw the church van and trailer!!!!!!!! i've never been that excited to see a boring 15-passenger van in my life.

jay was one of the last ones out. i almost pushed my way in the van i was so excited. gabe reached for him IMMEDIATELY. it was precious. and no joke, except to sleep, gabe didn't let go of jay until sometime monday.

i was kinda hurt at first. like, look kid...i didn't leave you for 11 days...you better love me too! (hahaha) but i knew how he felt. i didn't want to leave jays side either.

as soon as we got in the car we headed to lunch. we love to eat. then we dropped off jays stuff and went to watch some of the best ranger competition. that was cool.

i don't remember what we did that afternoon other than laundry and unpack. we just spent time together.

he did give me a ring that he bought for me in israel. it's so fun and pretty!!! he bought a size 7. no big deal...my ring size is 4.5 :)  it's ok though! i can wear it on my middle finger without it flying off as freely.

my pet peeves didn't take long to note jays arrival...
- first he and gabe thought eating m&ms on our bed was a good idea. chocolate everywhere. never a good thing when jay asks for the "tide pen."
- later jay decided he needed a snack and proceeded to eat potato chips in my ear. oh the heat wave that comes across my body! haha
- jays unpacking skills are MUCH to be desired. he doesn't really put things away. he just moves them around. it makes for 3 times the work of unpacking. i'll never understand.

so i followed him around the house asking where things needed to go. chaos drives me insane.

i'm one of those people who unpacks the minute i walk in the door. no joke. sometimes i won't even let myself pee first. i just work as hard and fast as i can. i probably need medication.

jay and gabe were both asleep by 7:15 saturday night. so i stayed up catching up on my murder shows from friday night on DVR.

jays appetite has been INSANE since he returned.
- sunday he had french toast before church. (oh my was i happy to have a bite of that!!!!!!!!!)
- on his way home from church he got a biscuit from burger king. then the minute he walked in the door he grabbed the peanut butter, a spoon and a banana.
- then he napped. OH THE SNORING! i had to text madison and tell her i was going insane.
- after the boys napped we ate lunch. jay again ate a pretty good amount. he said he was going to start eating less on monday :)
   - ps... monday morning he had 6 bowls of cheerios and a biscuit from chickfila. promising start! hahaha

with all these pet peeves and funny jay-isms i am SOOOOOOOOOOOO thankful to have him home. i love that man with all my heart. gabe does too. i love seeing the joy in gabe having his dad back. we are so very blessed.

oh and BEST NEWS EVER - jay shaved that big nasty beard. he's handsome again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

again, the rule is, unless he's making millions like the duck dynasty guys - he cannot look like them.

yeet.
