what up wednesday

so my stupid cell phone keeps messing up. good times. spent my morning working on that. ugh.

i put our new couch together by myself yesterday. sho nuff did. it was just adding the top reclining pieces but i still did it. this girl is pimp.

gabe said yummy monday. yayyyy!  he also keeps attempting to say i love you. (melts my heart) and he wants so badly to sing the ABCs. he thinks he is.

kid has gigs. every night (almost) we hear him playing his guitar. sometimes sleeping and waking up just to play...we should put a tip jar by his bed and throw money in it.

i made a tip jar for jays band with a sign that says "feelin' tipsy"

we went to the beach last week. it was fun!! we had some SUPER fun friends join us. they played with gabe and kept him one night so we could have date night.

let me tell you, however, what wasn't so fun. WHACKED OUT GABE...

he slept in our room the first night. bad, bad idea. did i mention it was a bad idea? he slept from maybe 8-11. then i got up with him twice between 11-2am. after 2am he NEVER went back to sleep. we tried everything.  we put him in our bed - TRAIN WRECK! it did have hilarious moments though. one time jay told him to lay down and he made a complaining noise. made us both laugh. then he played with my hair for a bit and then started blowing on it. that made me laugh.

FINALLY around 4 or 5 jay got up and took him for a ride in the jeep. he slept like 10 mins. so jay went to breakfast at the donut hole. i slept for maybe 2 hours. AWFUL night.

they both went back to sleep. G til 10 and Jay til 12. i hit the beach with my friends :)

the next night with ZERO shame we put his pack n play in the laundry room. he had his sound machine, kangaroo and laptop (toy) so we knew he was fine. we settled in on the couch and started watching Castle. about 30 mins later we heard the laundry room door fling open and gabe yell "HEY!" kinda like...do you guys realize i'm in here?!  we laughed until we cried. and went on watching castle.

he slept fine that night and so did we. yeet.

my desk is a wreck.

i've been kinda grumpy today. i think its this stupid humidity. i dont understand why it has to be so hot.

our family likes to swap furniture every so often. hence our getting a new couch. its fun. its an inexpensive way to redecorate.

i think we should do it with CLOTHES and purses. why dont we?????? seriously people. i mean it. let's do a clothes/accessories exchange. who is in?

my clothes are lame. that may be why nobody says yes...

i have TONS of TA retreat jobs if anyone is bored this summer OR just wants to be helpful :)

a girl at lunch today asked if i was military. i said no and i guess i looked intrigued. she said i looked like a "pretty, fit army officer wife." well THANK YOU. i needed that today :)

not that there's anything wrong with my day... it was just encouraging.

i have ugly feet.

i asked jay if we adopt another boy if we could name him Titus. i like that name. he said yes unless we name him Cole Trane which was our original name for Gabe...until his birth mom named him. so we kept it.

i really like avocados.

i think i made the lady mad at fresh market. i think she has me figured out. i ALWAYS ask to sample things but rarely buy anything from the little salady area. i love love love samples.

hence sample cups at frozen yogurt places. here's the deal. if imma pay 7 times the amount for one serving of ice cream at your joint, i'm at least going to fill up about 8 sample cups first. seriously, i could but a GALLON of ice cream for the price of one serving... ridiculous. but i must confess DELISH.

speaking of ice cream, my brother is making homemade ice cream every sunday all summer long. i can get you his address if you want to dip in on that goodness :)

i wish i had a lot of money. i know thats probably bad. but i promise i wouldnt be a brat with it (well maybe i would and thats why God has jay and i on ministry salaries!)  but i REALLY love to help people, i LOVE to do things for people. i feel like i would GIVE a lot. i know i would volunteer a lot! but God said nahhhhhhhh. so i'll be thankful for what we do have!!

i know i say it ALL THE TIME but i really love and appreciate Uncommon Athlete. i really mean it. i'm not saying it's better than other workouts or acting like it's elite....i'm just saying for ME it's been amazing and helped me grow...more than just muscles. here's why:

i used to weigh myself daily (sometimes more than once a day.) i cared way too much about that number. i also freaked out over food. mostly b/c i heard it "preached" to me at the gym. things like "work hard...you know you ate bad last night, etc." that junk messed with my head!!

Dennis never says crap like that. he certainly encourages healthy eating but he doesn't act like we cant live a normal life and have ice cream (for $50 a cup at a froyo joint)

UA changed my thought process. now i see the joy of building muscle and getting stronger. not getting skinny. i hardly ever weigh myself. such freedom in that!  i've learned to switch things up. i LOVE that every time i go to UA it's different. you never know what challenge/craziness Dennis has in store!! BUT with his (and other trainers) there to guide me i KNOW i can do it and i know they won't let me injure myself.

so, thanks UA.

another reason i love it... b/c i get to meet people i'd probably never know otherwise! Like army guys, prospective rangers who work really, really hard & tirelessly to achieve their goal. i know that it has made me appreciate the military more than ever! such an amazing group of folks that give their lives for our country. seriously, amazing.

Dennis Smith (owner) is super kind, funny, TOUGH, honest, energetic and experienced. you'll love him. not to mention his FABULOUS wife Debbie who works hard to keep that place going.

Thank You both.

i have muscles :)
