i like to laugh
i am so glad God made laughter. i love to laugh. i also love to sleep and eat.
tonight our small group is having potluck supper and playing games. there will be so much laughter! i cannot wait.
G is starting to talk more and in almost complete sentences. i can already tell that kid is going to wipe me out.
couple things he's said/done lately:
- after falling off a bike last week (before i even got on) i had a nasty bruise on my knee. he told me the other day that i needed to "wash my knee." thanks punk. it's not dirt. :)
- this morning on the way to school he said "mom, this is a cool stick." what? where'd he learn cool?
- i adore that he loves sticks. everywhere we go he looks for them. i do too. i cant even help myself.
- he doesnt complain about much. but he despises brushing his teeth and having his diaper/pull up changed. well saturday night he was coming up with every reason possible that he shouldn't go to sleep. he said "mom, better change my diaper." i couldn't pull it together.
- everything is some sort of power tool to him. even his fishing pole is a blower. yesterday morning i felt bad throwing away a straw b/c he'd been using it as a pressure washer.
i'm so thankful that he loves school. dropping him off is so easy. thank you Lord!
but he was cute this morning. i told him it was time to go. he said "i wanna play at our house." sweet. i almost let him skip.
- now that we have been to disney he thinks every church we pass by is a castle. (except CCC ha!)
- he and jay trick each other all the time saying "hey look smoke etector" (smoke detector) it is hilarious. Gs pretty funny doing it. but he always falls for jays trick!
- sunday morning he only walked backwards in the house making the beeping noise that truck makes backing up.
- he doesnt say i want to watch george. he says i want to hear george. idk.
- i adore that he honks my nose, cranks my ear and pokes me often.
he'll be sitting quietly and then he gets a burst of testosterone i guess and has to poke or attack.
if you're ever having a bad day, you can come hang with G. he'll make you laugh.
in other news...
in case you were worried about my bike riding skills...after a couple practice rides wednesday with Darryl from ride on bikes (he's AWESOME) and a practice ride thurs with Colleen (she's SUCH AN AMAZING COACH/friend!!) i rode saturday without fear! we did 20 miles and i loved it. i wanted to do more!
yesterday danelle and i did 25.5 and again i loved it. what a fun new hobby!
now when i run or see people running i want to yell "get a bike! much more fun!" ha
in exciting news -
i am working (super) part-time and sporadically with options4adoption out of atlanta. i am now doing home studies and post placements for adoption. i love them b/c ... they do not mess around!!! we used them for our home study and the consultants they recommended and from start to finish (like first day of paperwork til G was in our home) took 5 months. yep, 5.
in other news....
- college football is 72 days away.
- christmas is 6 months away. no worries, i'll start listening to christmas music in oct.
- everyone in the family has started their prep for our family talent show in oct. we raised the bar last year...so everyone is stepping it up. we, however, haven't even talked about it. uh oh.
- i am trying to grow my hair out and hate it. i look frumpy.
- running in the summer is awful
- so sunday my brother played the harmonica, a donkey jawbone ? and sang. seriously, he got all the talent. dont think he played guitar this time.
- i have low blood pressure always. its kinda funny when people check it. last time it was 90/56.
- i like decorative paperclips
- i like getting notes in the mail. i also like sending them. wrote 5 today!
-i LOVE shopping for people. i love coming up with creative gifts
- i am the worst at keeping gifts until its time to give them.
- i am not a good liar either. i laugh, make dumb faces and smile like an idiot.
- jay and i are determined to get yard of the month in the park district. watch out Derek Mann!
- my dad doesnt chew gum, drink coffee or eat peanut butter. i love all 3.
- at uncommon this morning all i wanted to do was skip the workout, run across the street and eat a biscuit. plucked up smelled delish.
i love Jesus.
