life

thank you tylenol pm...i slept like a pimp last night.

i've learned that buying cheap running shoes is NOT a good choice. these crappy shoes have been killing me. today i wore old ones & only ran 7 miles. i feel much better. getting new shoes pronto.

why is it stupid hot already? i cant even imagine how hot it is going to be this summer. gross. i'm just going to sweat for 3 months carrying around gabe in this heat!

i like to think that carrying gabe around gives me extra muscles. but last time i went to the doctor they checked my blood pressure and at first it was like 68/40 or something insane! so (to make sure i wasnt half dead) we checked again later. my doctor said he needed to find the "kiddie cuff" to check me. that hurt. i thought i had some guns.

jay has given me a couple topics to blog about. i can only remember one of his suggestions.

i told him that if i was mayor (or someone who could make the rules) i'd make some changes... first off, if a store like say, cvs for instance, wants to change locations they have to either A) find someone to fill their previous spot or B) use a building that is already standing. we have TOO many empty buildings sitting around making this town look junky.

i'd also take out half of the dang red lights in this town. seriously, they must have gone on sale or something. they are everywhere!

random story - a girl at the gym the other day did step with 3 risers. i thought she was going to kill herself. i even asked if she wanted me to take one away thinking she just didnt know or she forgot to lower it from power. what? 3? i was nervous she was going to bust it. she kept sitting down and taking off her shoes between songs. that kinda grossed me out.

i hate feet. except gabes.

we are going back to texas in july to finalize gabes adoption stuff. i plan on buying him a grown man size cowboy hat beforehand and taking it with us. i'd like to get his texas lawyer and judge to sign in. wont that be fun? wonder if they will. i also plan on wearing my (rockin) cowboy boots to court. wonder if thats ok?!

wallpaper is absolutely of the devil.

i am having a painting party at our house on sunday from 2-5pm. if you're reading this...COME HELP PAINT! waaahooo!

wanna know something ridiculous? we have to have these post-placement visits for gabe. i understand they want to make sure we are taking good care of him, etc. but seriously. they come for like 30 mins (max) ask the same questions every month and charge us $250 + $95 in gas each time. yes, yes they do.

i've quit complaining since monday. i'm glad. deciding to be happy is just easier...less depressing!

tuesday night at bible study, jonathan & lisa were singing whatever songs we requested. then at the end he said he just felt like he needed to sing this one song...he wasnt sure why. i kinda smiled and thought, "ok Lord if this is 'i need thee' then i know it's for me."  guess what it was...yep. i sing that song when i'm running,  sad, tired, being fleshy, etc. how fun is God. He was thinking of me :)

i love pinterest. it makes me hungry but i love it. the fitness stuff makes me feel lazy and the food makes me want to pig out. still, i cant help myself.

i love college football. i cannot freakin wait til fall. oh my.

why is the speaker thing at goo-goo drive-thru car wash SOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud? i feel like all of columbus can hear that woman ask what kindof wash i want.

jay is so funny. i love to watch him with gabe. they are hilarious. jay commentates what gabe is saying...oh my word. i laugh til i cry.

i appreciate that jay is funny, that he is consistent (i dont ever have to worry about his mood or attitude), i love that he cares about people, he spends time with gabe & delights in it, he sends funny texts, makes the bed horribly but its cute, and he is gentle.

no joke - when his truck got broken into a couple months back we were driving somewhere and he said, "wait! they didnt get my chick-fil-a coupons did they?!"  awesome. (they didnt...)

am i the only person who likes the end pieces on a loaf of bread? i love 'em. we refer to them as a dirty word in my family. thought i'd keep my blog kid friendly...

i used to hate wal-mart but now i kinda like it. parking and the checkout lanes suck but other than that i can roam through there for hours. i still like target better. but i like being able to grocery shop at wal-mart. oh but those turny bag things stress me OUT. i always think i'm going to leave something.

it never fails that i get a cart with a mind of its own. it always pulls to one side. then i look like a drunk or something trying to steer.

i dont drink.

i love sharpies.

i have an addiction to dunkin donuts french vanilla coffee. but only when i brew it myself. i like my coffee STRONG. just ask jays parents. they think i'm insane (for more reasons than my coffee...)

funny quotes from jays mom... " do you trim your fingernails like that on purpose?" & "if i want a pork chop, i just eat a pork chop!"

i love candles.

i love filling out paperwork.

things that give me gas:  tofu, black beans, chickpeas, spinach leaves (they KILL my stomach), red grapes, apples, cucumbers, bell peppers.

why are captain wafers so good? and why do the wrappers stick to your hand?

i could live off of peanut butter and trail mix.

i went to pickle barrel this week for the first time ever. i really liked it. i was surprised.

i want to go to a braves game. a night one so its not gross hot.

i hardly ever drink diet coke anymore but there is nothing better than a really cold one. like the kind that have chunks of ice in them b/c they are so cold. LOVE.

i'm not joking....i have to change the toilet paper roll EVERYWHERE i go. work, home, around town, at peoples houses...somehow it always runs out on me. never fails. it is starting to make me laugh.

i am so very excited about having a front porch to sit on as well as a backyard to sit in, eat dinner in and lay out in. (sorry for the laying out part White family...i'll warn you ahead of time!)

i still cant remember the other thing jay wanted me to blog about...oh well, stay tuned.
