its been a while

oops. i have been in summer mode and haven't slowed down to blog lately. i don't have much to talk about but i will start typing and see what happens :)

my child is hilarious.

we were both in the kitchen last thursday evening. out of nowhere we heard a noise. i tried not to act scared. G asked "whats that?!" i said i wasnt sure. he said, "i think it was a snake!" i was shocked b/c i thought it sounded like one too! so we huddled up together and argued about who was going to check. i told him it was the mans job and jay wasn't home.

neither one of us ever checked. but we laughed. a lot.

i do enjoy him so much. but he has his moments.

like this morning...he always has things to talk about before he gets out of bed. then he has opinions. here's how this morning went down...

hey mom. is that a truck on my shelf?
yes, yes its a truck.
are those ducks up there too?
yes.
those ducks go round and round.
sure do. would you like to get up?
mom, is that a smoke etecor? (detector?)
yes g.
2 smoke etecors?
yep same as yesterday. there are 2 in your room.
smoke etecors loud.
yep sure are. like the one that went off at church yesterday :)
ready to get up?
yeah.

my toys! (he's always excited to see his toys every morning. i do appreciate that about him!)

he played and stayed content for a minute. then i dared use the potty...

mom! uh oh, where are you?
in your bathroom.
why? why mom? (and starts "crying" but no tears)
i had to use the potty. need something?

now he's standing in the hallway watching me use the bathroom and "crying" pointing at his eyes to make sure i get that he's upset...

he's fake crying with all that he has in him.

me - g, you aren't even really upset. what can i do for you? dont just whine. use your words.
...nothing but sobs

long story short -
he wanted a banana.
then 2 bananas. but we only had one left so that was another reason to cry.

then he wanted to watch bob the builder.

then he wanted juice. but choked on it and freaked while pouring juice down the chair.

later he cried b/c he wanted to brush his teeth while i was changing his diaper.

later he was upset b/c his fishing pole line was wrapped incorrectly.

good times. but seriously you cant help but love him.

now i know what i probably sound and act like with God.

in other life news:
- i LOOOOOVE bike riding. it is soooooo much better than running. although it has its tough moments!
- i am signed up for a duathlon on july 19. i am TERRIFIED.
- i have no clue why or how people want to do iron mans.
- i have a new favorite place to eat. pho vy 11. YUM.
- TA fall retreat prep time is here. feel free to volunteer your time :)
- midtown cakes makes a butter pecan cake. amen.

i am still being obedient to what God told me to do back in may. what freedom!!! even the other day i was really struggling...i mean something awful. negative thoughts, just sad...and i wanted to quit. i wanted to hide from the world but instead i decided to follow His advice and "DO IT."

and without fail...freedom followed. i love Jesus.

i know i mentioned before that i am doing adoption home studies and post placements now.

i LOOOOOOOOVE it. absolutely love it.

i have fallen in love with every couple so far. seriously, like i want to spend christmas with these folks. i love them and i love doing this.

feel free to email me with questions. PLEASE tell your friends about me! and KNOW that the consultants that i work with DO NOT mess around. you will be very well taken care of and have a baby in your home quickly :)    kaci.options4adoption@gmail.com

with my new found love of biking has come a new hate for running. ha

my left knee is so jacked up. i have cut back to running 3 days a week and not my usual distance. i am too young to be feeling so crickety. (is that a word?!)

i need a prescription for voltaren asap.

my new favorite thing to do is shop at the junque yard. OH MY WORD. i could spend hours in there and not see everything. i wish i could decorate my house like that place.

jay and i will be celebrating our 8th anniversary on july 21 (assuming i live through my duathlon on july 19)

we booked an overnight trip to callaway gardens. should be fun! we don't get any free breakfast though i don't think...?

so ideas of where we should go?  breakfast, lunch and/or dinner while there?  i know its like 30 mins away but i still want it to feel like a mini vacation.

i have several topics i'd love to let loose on in my blog. but i worry i will offend people. (not like it'd be the first time)

here are some on the topics:
- middle school. why its awful. what i wish kids would KNOW during those tough years. and how i wish i could pull the "mean girls" AND THEIR MOMS in a room and give em a what for.

- my thoughts towards parents and teenagers.

- how much i don't like books on dating.

- what schools are really like (not talking teaching/learning) but pressure on kids compared to what people may think

i could go on...........................

do i sound grumpy?

i'm not! :)

few random thoughts to close:
- i drink water lukewarm. not ice please.
- my neighbor made the BEST blueberry crumble ever. ever.
- i am thankful that God put fun friends and family in my life.
- it's ALMOST college football/Fall/holiday time. MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- pork does not work well with my stomach
- i am trying to grow my hair out and i despise it.
